How to Use a Teleprompter on Zoom (Without It Being Obvious)

Float your script over the call window so you can read it and still look at the camera.

📞 The trick to using a teleprompter on Zoom isn't the script — it's the window layout. Here's the setup that actually works.

🪟 Step 1 — Open the teleprompter in Picture-in-Picture

📝 Script ready → 🖼️ Open in PiP → 🎯 Position near your camera → 📞 Join the call

In ProNoto's web teleprompter, Picture-in-Picture opens your script in its own small floating window that stays on top of every other app — including Zoom.

📷 Step 2 — Position it right under your webcam

Drag the floating window as close to your camera as your screen allows. The closer it sits to the lens, the less your eyes visibly drift while reading — the same trick news anchors use with an actual teleprompter rig.

🙈 Step 3 — Keep it out of your screen share

If you're sharing your screen in the call, share a specific application or tab rather than your entire desktop, and keep the teleprompter window outside whatever you're sharing. That keeps your script visible to you and invisible to everyone on the call.

🎙️ Optional — let it scroll with your voice

Set the pace manually, or turn on voice-controlled scrolling so it moves as you actually talk instead of racing ahead during a pause.
