💍 A wedding speech has a specific problem regular presentations don't: you're emotional, the room is watching closely, and there's usually zero rehearsal before you're handed the mic.
The setup
✍️ Write it early → 🗣️ Rehearse a few times → 📱 Prop a phone or tablet near the mic
✍️ Write it a few days early, not the night before
Emotional speeches are easier to get through the second and third time you say them out loud — the first read is always the shakiest. Give yourself more than one rehearsal.
📱 Use a phone or tablet as a discreet stand
You don't need a projector or a big screen — a phone or small tablet propped near the microphone, running an online teleprompter, is enough to glance at without holding a shaking piece of paper.
🎚️ Set the speed slower than you think you need
Wedding speeches involve pauses — for laughs, for tears, for looking at the couple. A fixed fast scroll fights against that. A slower pace (or voice-controlled scrolling that pauses when you do) leaves room for the moment instead of racing through it.
