Notes
How do I create a new note?
Click the '+ New Note' button in the notes sidebar. Your note saves automatically as you type — no need to hit save.
How do I organise my notes?
Use Spaces to group related notes (like a subject or project), and Tags to label notes across spaces. Click the # symbol inside a note to add a tag inline, or manage tags from the sidebar.
How do I use AI tools inside a note?
Click the AI wand button in any note editor to access tools like Summarize, Polish, Restructure, and Action Items. Free users get 20 AI credits per day (shared across all AI tools). Plus users get unlimited credits.
Can I export my notes?
Yes — click the export button on any note to download it as a PDF, or use Ctrl/Cmd + P to print or save as PDF.
How do I search my notes?
Use the search bar at the top of the notes sidebar to search by title or content. You can also filter by tag or browse within a specific Space.
Goals (Home)
What are Goals in pronoto?
Goals is the home screen feature that helps you build a personalised prep kit for whatever you're working on — a job interview, exam, presentation, language learning, or meeting. Pick a goal, answer a few quick questions, and pronoto builds a tailored plan with the right tools ready to go.
How do I start a goal?
Click the Home tab and pick a goal chip — for example 'Nail a Presentation', 'Ace an Exam', or 'Prep for an Interview'. Answer the short wizard questions (you can skip any), and pronoto generates a coaching response and a kit of ready-to-use tools matched to your goal.
What is the kit pronoto gives me after I pick a goal?
After the wizard, pronoto shows you a personalised plan card — for example 'Your Google PM Interview Kit' or 'Your Biology Exam Kit'. It lists the best tools for that goal such as flashcards, a practice quiz, a teleprompter script, or study notes. Click any item to generate it and open it straight in the tool.
Can I come back to a goal later?
Yes — your active goal sessions are saved on the Home screen. Click 'Continue →' on any session card to pick up where you left off.
How do I delete a goal session?
Hover over a session card and click the × button that appears on the right to remove it.
What is 'Add more details'?
After your plan is generated you can click '✏️ Add more details →' to refine it — add your company name, change the topic, or provide more context. pronoto will update the plan accordingly.
Can I just ask a question instead of using a goal?
Yes — the chat input at the bottom of the Home tab works exactly like regular AI chat. Type any question directly and pronoto will answer it. Goals are a guided shortcut to get you set up faster.
Ask Noto
What can Noto help me with?
Noto can answer general questions, help you brainstorm, summarise content, and — on Plus — chat directly with your notes. Type @ in the chat to bring a specific note or space into the conversation.
How do I chat with my notes?
This is a Plus feature. Upgrade to Plus and use the @ mention to select a note or space, or click 'Ask my Notes' from the quick actions to ask questions across all your notes.
What counts as an AI credit?
Free users get 20 AI chat messages/day, 5 Notes AI actions/day (note tools + @note), and 3 Ask your notes & spaces queries/day. Each bucket resets at midnight. Plus users get unlimited AI with no daily caps.
What happens when I run out of credits?
Daily credits reset every night at midnight. If you run out, you can continue the next day or upgrade to Plus for generous AI access.
Can I save AI responses as notes?
Yes — click the 'Save to Note' button below any AI response to save it directly to your notes.
Teleprompter
How do I use the teleprompter?
Go to the Prompter tab, create or select a script, then click the play button to enter full-screen mode. Use the speed and font size controls to match your natural pace.
How do I control speed and font during playback?
Use the on-screen + / − buttons or keyboard shortcuts during playback: arrow keys adjust speed, A− / A+ adjust font size. Press Space to pause and resume.
What are the teleprompter limits on the free plan?
Free users get unlimited script length on desktop (Mac/Windows). On mobile or tablet, scripts are capped at 500 words. Plus removes that mobile/tablet cap too, and unlocks unlimited sessions, Overlay, and Voice Follow.
How does Voice Follow work?
Voice control uses your microphone to detect when you're speaking. The teleprompter scrolls while you speak and pauses automatically when you stop — no foot pedal or remote needed. Available on Plus.
How long can my scripts be?
Unlimited on desktop web for everyone, free or paid. On mobile or tablet, free is capped at 500 words per script; Plus removes that cap too.
What is Picture-in-Picture mode and how do I use it?
Picture-in-Picture (PiP) lets your teleprompter float above every other app as a small, always-on-top window. Start a teleprompter session, then click the PiP button (⧉) in the top controls. The window auto-scrolls at your set speed and stays visible over Zoom, Google Slides, or any other app. You can click, use the spacebar, or scroll to pause and resume. PiP is available on Prompter Pro and Plus plans. Note: PiP works when your video call is open in a Chrome browser tab. If you use the desktop app for Google Meet, Zoom, or Teams, open your call in Chrome instead — PiP cannot overlay native desktop applications.
What is the difference between Studio Mode and Live Overlay?
Studio Mode (web app) is best for recording sessions, podcasting, full-screen presenting, and school announcements — it takes over your whole screen so you can read with focus. Live Overlay (Chrome extension) floats the teleprompter as a small overlay above any app, so you can read your script while on a Zoom, Google Meet, or Teams call without switching tabs.
How do I keep the teleprompter hidden from my audience during a screen share?
When using Picture-in-Picture mode, share a specific window or app instead of your entire screen — for example, share just your slides app or your browser tab. The floating teleprompter window will not appear in the share. If you share your entire screen, the PiP window will be visible to your audience since it floats on top of everything.
Flashcards (Recall)
What are Flashcards and how do I get started?
Flashcards (Recall) is the 4th tab in pronoto — it generates AI flashcards from your Space notes. Go to the Recall tab, pick a Space, and click Generate. pronoto reads your notes and creates up to 10 flashcards in seconds.
How many flashcards can I generate?
Free users get 50 cards per month, resetting each month. Plus users get 200 AI-generated cards per month. Generation is capped at 10 cards per session for speed.
How do I study a deck?
Click Play on any deck to start a study session. Cards show the question first — tap or press Space to flip and reveal the answer. Then mark Know it (→) or Review again (←). Sessions are 10 cards at a time so it feels manageable.
What are the keyboard shortcuts?
Space = flip the card. → (right arrow) = Know it. ← (left arrow) = Review again. Shortcuts only work after the card is flipped.
What if I don't understand an answer?
After flipping a card, tap 'Not sure? Ask Ask Notes →' below the answer. This opens Ask Notes with the question pre-filled so you can get a full explanation without leaving your study session.
Can I regenerate a deck after adding more notes?
Yes — open the 3-dot menu on any deck card and select Regenerate. This replaces the existing deck with a fresh set of cards based on your latest notes in that Space.
AI Mindmaps
What are AI Mindmaps and how do I get started?
AI Mindmaps turns any Space into a visual mindmap in seconds. Go to the Mindmaps tab in the sidebar, pick a Space, and click Generate. pronoto reads your notes and builds a branching map of the key topics automatically.
How many mindmaps can I generate?
Free users get 3 mindmaps per month, resetting on the 1st of each month. Plus users get unlimited mindmaps. Each generation counts as one use regardless of Space size.
Can I save and rename mindmaps?
Yes — click Save to store a mindmap. You can save the same Space multiple times (each save is independent). To rename a saved mindmap, hover over it and click the pencil icon, then press Enter or click the tick to confirm.
What does highlighting a node do?
Click any branch or leaf node to highlight it — the rest of the map dims so you can focus. Click the background to clear the highlight. When a node is highlighted, an 'Ask Ask Notes' pill appears at the bottom — click it to open Ask Notes pre-filled with a question about that topic.
How do I export a mindmap as PNG?
Click the Export PNG button in the mindmap toolbar. This is a Plus-only feature — free users will see an upgrade prompt. The export captures the full mindmap at 2× resolution.
Can I zoom and pan the mindmap?
Yes. Use pinch or Ctrl+scroll to zoom, and two-finger swipe (or click and drag) to pan. Press the reset button (scan icon) in the toolbar to fit the whole map back on screen.
Chrome Extension
What does the Chrome extension do?
The pronoto Chrome extension lets you capture notes, use Ask Notes, and access your teleprompter scripts while browsing — without switching tabs.
How do I sync between the extension and web app?
Sign in with the same account on both. Your notes, spaces, and scripts sync automatically in real time via Firebase — no manual sync needed.
Does the extension share the same plan and credits?
Yes. Your Plus plan is shared across the web app and extension. AI chat credits (20/day free) are shared across both. Advanced AI tool uses (1/day free) are web app only.
Where can I get the extension?
Search for 'pronoto' in the Chrome Web Store, or click 'Get Chrome Extension' in the Help & Support menu inside the app.
Plans, Billing & Cancellation
What's included in the free plan?
The free plan includes unlimited notes and spaces, 30 AI credits/month shared across all AI features, teleprompter with unlimited scripts on web (500 words on mobile and the Chrome extension), limited AI flashcards/quizzes/mindmaps (credit-based), and 5 image extractions/month. Voice-to-script is a Plus feature.
What does Plus include?
Plus gives you generous AI usage (no worrying about credits), AI Translate for notes and teleprompter scripts, unlimited voice notes up to 30 minutes each, unlimited teleprompter sessions, unlimited script length, unlimited Ask a Space and Ask All Notes, and all future Plus features. Available monthly ($9.99/mo) or annually ($44.99/yr — equivalent to $3.75/mo).
How do I upgrade to Plus?
Click the Upgrade button in the app sidebar, or from the upgrade modal. You'll be taken to our payment page to complete the purchase.
How do I cancel my subscription?
To cancel, click your profile (in the sidebar on desktop, or the profile icon on mobile) and select 'Billing'. This opens the Stripe billing portal where you can cancel your subscription directly — no email needed. Your Plus access continues until the end of the current billing period.
Does cancelling immediately remove my access?
No — when you cancel, your Plus access remains active until the end of the billing period you've already paid for. You won't be charged again after that.
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept major credit and debit cards processed securely via Stripe. pronoto never stores your card details. If you have trouble with payment, contact hello@pronoto.ai and we'll help.
Account & Data
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Data tab → Delete account. You'll be asked to verify your identity and confirm. Deletion is immediate and permanent — all your notes, scripts, uploaded files, and account data are removed instantly. If you have an active paid subscription, please cancel it before deleting your account.
Can I change the email on my account?
If you signed up with Google, your email is tied to your Google account. If you used email/password, contact hello@pronoto.ai and we'll help update it.
Is my data secure?
Yes. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest. Your notes are stored securely via Google Firebase. We never sell your data or use it to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Can I export all my data?
Individual notes can be exported as PDFs. For a full data export, contact hello@pronoto.ai and we'll provide your data in a standard format.
